No really I’m still around..
Site News 2 Comments »Hi folks,
You may have noticed that MGN has once again disappeared. I don’t like to think of it as disappeared as much as: “Jesus Christ will I ever find a moment to actually stop doing work and actually do something fun??”
Understand: for Gamehounds, all I have to do is show up. Edie does 99.99% of the work leading to the show. I show up, I tell dick and fart jokes perhaps offer to fellate or in turn order someone to fellate me, then I sign off, go to sleep and dream of Mass Effect 2.
For this show, I put the list together, I come up with snarky intro’s, figure out which story does something to me emotionally, sit down, start up, finish, add the beginning, upload the file and publish with a tomorrow publish date, then go to sleep and dream of Mass Effect 2.
It’s not really a lot of time, but the job has taken a turn towards the OMG, then it’s home, give my kid the time of day and a bit more, then while he’s going to sleep, I make his lunch, do some general straightening up, and then try to break my brain from the day by either entertaining myself, or sitting in the corner rocking back and forth crying out the name of my long lost dog. By that time it’s now 9:30 at night and if I hadn’t put articles together during the day, I must now set that up.
The last 8 times I tried to do this, I held my hand over the mouse, and stared at my screen, and as God is my witness I couldn’t move. Just had no energy left to do any type of article search, let alone bring up my energy to sound like I’m even vaguely interested in games.
So while you may be thinking: “If this is it, please let me know, if this ain’t love you better let me know.” Though I doubt the “love” angle was on your mind. More along the lines of: “For fucks sakes Hawkes would you please just suck our dicks or stop, because we’re getting a serious case of blue balls here!”
I’m sorry for that, but I’m really trying to make this work, and somehow, eventually, I will make this work.
Have faith in me a little while longer.
Thanks for reading/listening!
Hawkes
