No really I’m still around..

Hi folks,

You may have noticed that MGN has once again disappeared.  I don’t like to think of it as disappeared as much as: “Jesus Christ will I ever find a moment to actually stop doing work and actually do something fun??”

Understand: for Gamehounds, all I have to do is show up.  Edie does 99.99% of the work leading to the show.  I show up, I tell dick and fart jokes perhaps offer to fellate or in turn order someone to fellate me, then I sign off, go to sleep and dream of Mass Effect 2.

For this show, I put the list together, I come up with snarky intro’s, figure out which story does something to me emotionally, sit down, start up, finish, add the beginning, upload the file and publish with a tomorrow publish date, then go to sleep and dream of Mass Effect 2.

It’s not really a lot of time, but the job has taken a turn towards the OMG, then it’s home, give my kid the time of day and a bit more, then while he’s going to sleep, I make his lunch, do some general straightening up, and then try to break my brain from the day by either entertaining myself, or sitting in the corner rocking back and forth crying out the name of my long lost dog.  By that time it’s now 9:30 at night and if I hadn’t put articles together during the day, I must now set that up.

The last 8 times I tried to do this, I held my hand over the mouse, and stared at my screen, and as God is my witness I couldn’t move.  Just had no energy left to do any type of article search, let alone bring up my energy to sound like I’m even vaguely interested in games.

So while you may be thinking: “If this is it, please let me know, if this ain’t love you better let me know.” Though I doubt the “love” angle was on your mind. More along the lines of: “For fucks sakes Hawkes would you please just suck our dicks or stop, because we’re getting a serious case of blue balls here!”

I’m sorry for that, but I’m really trying to make this work, and somehow, eventually, I will make this work.

Have faith in me a little while longer.

Thanks for reading/listening!

Yes I realize we went MGN free this week. All I can say is: the devil made me do it. I am easily tempted by shiny things and women with stunning legs.

It’s my kryptonite.

Anyway I’ll get back into the swing of things ASAP. It also relies on family compliance.

And I can’t always rely on their compliance. :)

So keep an eye/ear out. Probably Monday I would say.

Good weekend!

Amazon Says: Shop with us, pay 6 bux more, and the game will arrive at your home on the DAY it’s releasing in stores.  Dunno if it’s worth it but for those who want the game but don’t want to drive to a store, I guess it’s pretty good.

New PS3 Firmware 2.5 will allow you to do screen captures.  This is neat, but my limited imagination can’t figure out a practical use for it.

Special thanks to Wari from the Pink Ninja Studios forums for sending me the map to Crackdown’s abundant hidden orb and agility orb locations.

..and here too!

Pre-order Tom Clancy’s EndWar and get a “VIP DEMO” of the game before it comes out.  Well guess what Hawkes is doing tomorrow? Besides Alan Wake, this is Hawkes favorite non-sequel game coming this fall.

Immersion’s settlement with Sony had a funny side effect, seems Microsoft had a clause in the contract that would have Immersion give them 18 million if they settle with Sony.  Today, Immersion sent Microsoft a check.

Living in the Limelight the universal dream.. well dream it for a little while longer.  Rush’s Moving Pictures album for Rock Band has been delayed due to technical difficulties.  IT could be weeks.. sorry folks!

Max Payne 3 is on the way! Hurray! Oh and it seems Rockstar’s cooking something nice just for PS3. What is it? No one knows.  But the people that did GTA IV? They’re supposedly making it.

Thanks for listening!

Happy Birthday Mom!

Show Length: 12:10

Here’s a brilliant Idea, take the RIAA’s way of fighting Piracy and apply it to games.  That is, find someone with a torrent? SUE THEM.  It’s so brilliant that even Peter Moore is all: What the fuck?!

Does the new 80GB PS3 have the 65nm RSX GPU? Maybe it does, maybe it doesn’t.  All I know is that last part of the sentence had way too many acronyms.

E For All is coming, but hardly any major publishers are going. Kinda seems pointless now doesn’t it?

DICE Announces that Battlefield Heros is technically out, but still in Beta.  The plan is: expand the Beta, get the people hooked, then quietly just say “AH-HA! YOu’ve been drinking Decaf all along! Muahahahahaha!” or something like that.

Starting Midnight Pacific time on Wednesday AUgust 27th, Amazon is holding a Gold Box sale on all things PS3.  First item is up at 12:01 until sold out, next item at 6:00am, and then it continues through the day.  Supplies are limited, yadda yadda, lawyer bullshit line here.

Sony says we’re Home free this fall.  Ok that was terrible, but the point is, Sony’s saying Home is out in 2008.  They swear it.  Then again I’m still waiting for AOL access on PS2 so who knows.

Call of Duty: World at War perks have been released.  Hawkes’ personal favorite? Dead man. I can’t imagine anything more frightening then a dead guy getting up to shiv ya.  Then again, I bet most people will just go corpse shooting.

Patch is coming for Alone in the Dark on Xbox 360 to fix the bugs that were taken care of for the upcoming PS3 version.  Will this make it a better game? For Atari’s sake I hope so.

The $199 Xbox 360 Arcade rumor is coming true, but what about this one: That it will include a motion sensing controller?  I have my doubts, at least for the September 7th release, but in the future? I wouldn’t be surprised.
